I have thoroughly enjoyed this year's Christmas. I really thought it'd be a little hectic with all the places Chris and I had to be this year, but it was so much fun! And it really all fit perfectly together. Last night for Christmas Eve we went to Chris's grandparents' house in Martin. We had a blast opening presents and watching the little cousins playing, not with their Christmas presents, but with the styrofoam Molly's American girl bed came in.
We got home at a decent time to go to bed early because we had to get up early the next morning to do our own Christmas and then head to Mom and Dad Johnson's house in Sharon for breakfast. Chris kept trying to convince me that we should open our stockings the night before...and I really wanted to also, but I wanted to wait too. So, we did and I'm glad. We rolled out of bed about 6 to open our presents. He got me a bible with my new name on it! Jacquelyn Johnson. And he also got me a bible cover in the closest looking thing to Vera Bradley I've ever seen. It's Java Blue pattern and honestly I don't know if Vera even makes Bible covers. Anyway, super cute and I love it!
We then went to breakfast in Sharon like I said earlier and it was super yummy. Tied us over until dinner at 3. My favorite present from Ms. Karen and Mr. Roger was the Pioneer Woman cooks cookbook. I love Ree Drummonds blog and I probably read it at least every other day. I usually don't miss a post. She is a blogger who writes about her life, cooking, photography, and the adventures she has in homeschooling her children.
Then we went to Mama and Daddy's and we opened presents again! (I had a blast all day doing that) My big thing was a Study bible with my new name on it too. I'm actually glad I got two because I didn't really want to take my study bible on-the-go, so the small one that Chris got me is good for that.
After we opened presents there, we went to Granny's to have dinner and then open presents for the last time today. We got mostly pieces of our good china. Chris got a season of House and I got a blow dryer. (Much needed since I've been having scares recently of mine not working in the morning...my hair is a bit of a mess if I don't fix it. It very much has a mind of it's own.)
Now I'm sitting here with Mama, Daddy, Rhea, and Chris and we are watching Jumper. Not the best acting in the world, but for some reason I really like this movie and everybody let me have my choice.
I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and that we all remember the REASON for the season.
