My crazy rainboots

I (well my lovely Mama) bought these really really cute rainboots for me to wear around campus. I haven't been able to wear them until today. I think Chris thought I was out of my mind when I jumped out of bed to look out the window and yelled "It's raining! I get to wear my rainboots today!!!" Normally I'm not that excited about the rain...my hair is a bit on the wavy side (not the pretty wavy mind you) and looks like a rats nest if it is damp outside. But today, I got to wear my crazy patterned rainboots! Good good day. :)

It's funny how the really really simple things can totally make someone's day (like wearing my rainboots). I told my Sunday School class a while back that I play a game with myself walking across campus. I like the good ole' days where people waved at you no matter if they knew you or not. Well, I'm doing a new version. If I walk past someone I try and smile at them...if they smile back, I win! If they don't I lose, but I look for the next person coming my way. My roommate a few years ago commented that I knew everybody we walked passed. Well...actually I didn't, but I did smile at everyone. It's fun to see someone who tries and looks at you out of the corner of their eye while passing, suddenly look up and smile because they realize there is a smile coming their way too. I can't do a lot in this world monetarily to help people, I don't have that much time to go and volunteer, but one thing I can do is hopefully put someone in just a slightly better mood before they have to go and endure another professor.

So, what's your rainboot?
